Private Member’s bill to promote safety in hospitals

The Hon. Kerry-Lynne Findlay, Chief Opposition Whip and Member of Parliament for South Surrey—White Rock, introduced a private Member’s bill that will protect healthcare workers and patients from open drug use and weapons in our hospitals.

Justin Trudeau decriminalized hard drugs so now it’s legal to smoke crack, crystal meth and fentanyl in our hospitals. A leaked memo from Northern Health revealed that B.C. healthcare workers were told they could not confiscate drugs or weapons. This has created unsafe working conditions and significant safety issues for vulnerable patients in healthcare settings.

The B.C. Nurses Union is sounding the alarm. In one instance five nurses were exposed to fentanyl smoke causing them to be sent to emergency. This is Justin Trudeau’s extremist views at work which is unacceptable. You and your family deserve to be safe while working in health care settings or when you are in need of a hospital bed.

A common sense Poilievre government will ensure that our hospitals are drug and weapon free.

I’m working hard to become your next Conservative candidate to run in the next federal election, but I can’t do it without your help.
